Characters are the heart and soul of Heartopia. The game features 20 non-player characters (NPCs) each with their own backstory, personality, daily routines, and gift preferences. Building friendships with characters is one of the core progression mechanics — as your friendship level increases, characters share personal stories, offer unique quests, and reward you with rare items.
Every character in Heartopia belongs to one of six regions: Central Town, Fishing Village, Amazing Forest, Flower Fields, Onsen Mountains, and Purple Light Beach. Their roles range from shopkeepers and mentors to artists, explorers, and lighthouse keepers. Some characters also have MBTI personality types that influence their dialogue and interactions.
